Intern Architects 

We are seeking full-time Intern Architects with a minimum of 5 years Canadian experience to join our team. Applicants must be registered with the AIBC, or eligible to be registered in the province of British Columbia.

What we require:

  • A passion for design and great work
  • Broad design knowledge and project management experience
  • Ability to synthesize program into design and fully realized construction documents
  • Ability to solve  complex problems with creative, innovative solutions
  • Demonstrated local experience
  • Knowledge of the BC Building Codes and related local bylaws
  • Knowledge and applied experience with LEED and sustainable design concepts and solutions
  • A proficiency in English communication skills, both oral and written
  •   Strong Revit and AutoCAD skills are preferred.

  Office Manager / Bookkeeper

RATIO is hiring to fill a key role in our organization, Office Manager, who will be primarily responsible for the accounting operations of our firm and ensuring our office runs smoothly on a day-to-day basis. As part of the management team, the Office Manager will have an opportunity to help the organization succeed through efficiencies and business process improvements. Reporting to the Managing Partner; this is a full-time permanent position with opportunity for growth.

Key functional responsibilities:

  • Accounting
  • HR
  • Admin
  • Operations

 

You:

You have a proven track record in managing the office of a small to mid-sized architectural or related field of practice. You are well-versed in the requirements for full cycle accounting using Simply Accounting (or Quick Books) You have strong interpersonal skills, able to compromise, collaborate or stand your ground to get to the best outcome. In matters of Human Resources and Intellectual Property, you understand the necessity of confidentiality.  You are forward thinking, and have the confidence to make positive impact to the firm through business process improvements. As a tech-savvy office manager, you are proficient in Word, Outlook and Excel.  You may also know your way around Adobe products like InDesign.

Responsibilities:

  • Full cycle bookkeeping including payables, receivables and projections
  • Tax reporting with the assistance of Ratio’s accounting firm including year-end preparation and scheduled GST remittances
  • Bank Reconciliations/deposits
  • Responsible for payroll
  • Maintenance of professional practice insurance policies
  • Administer Group Benefits
  • Booking business related travel
  • Maintaining professional memberships
  • Onboarding new staff; policies & procedures
  • Management of office supplies and equipment
