Island Savings Chemainus branch recently opened in the new Chemainus Village Square. RATIO led the corporate wide reimagination which included a branch design concept and implementation strategy. The Chemainus location ‘branch of the future’ is the 5th in the concept rollout.
We recognized that the value of the brand hinged not only on organizational consistency but also on the individual relationships built between branch staff and members in each community. Supporting these relationships was the reference for every design decision made. Open, modern branch design with more private community space at each Island Savings location to engage community members.
Even though Chemainus is the smallest branch in system at 3600 sq ft (moved from 1500 sq. ft. location), the 25’ high ceilings, full height exterior glazing and open plan make the space feel larger than it is; modern and welcoming. RATIO leveraged Island Savings new brand identity by using the already-iconic “sand dollar” motif as the basis for a 16’ x by 47’ 3D mural. The mural runs the width of the branch, acting as a unifying element that ties together all member facing branch components including entry, atm vestibule, greeter, members lounge, and teller wickets within the open plan. The mural subtly incorporates the Island Savings brand but functions as a dramatic backdrop and gives a nod to the tradition of public art in Chemainus, the city of murals.
Every detail – from the design elements to the upgraded technologies – has been carefully chosen to support a commitment to remarkable service.
Chemainus residents can expect:
An indoor, secure ATM
A comfortable member lounge with free coffee and Wi-Fi access
Private, sit down offices to conduct personal banking
Increased technology, including wall monitors to see the same information as advisors and conference with other Island Savings specialists
